A waterfront restaurant located on the banks of the Gloucester-Sharpness canal near to The Quays. We were made very welcome for our meal out at Brewhouse and Kitchen including the dog who was given a fresh bowl of water to keep him refreshed.
This place is a very nice eatery that is also a microbrewery, the decor is themed about brewing in a tasteful manner. There was seating over 2 floors and also outside seating with heating for a nice waterfront place to eat or drink.
There was a very good choice of drinks including both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. I opted for their ginger beer on this visit but in the past have enjoyed an array of lagers. My favourite drink I have had here is Tongerlo, a Belgian lager, which is very strong.
For dinner the pork rib was a delicious starter followed by their Moroccan Lamb stew, both were very tasty and cannot wait to return.
The menu also includes a good choice of meal options, standout dishes earmarked for next visit include;
- Homemade pork, ale and black pudding scotch egg.
- Memphis Barbecue Burger – British brisket & chuck steak patty, barbecue pulled pork, Swiss cheese with cask ale relish, tomato, lettuce, red onion, dill pickle & mayonnaise.
- Lamb Pea and mint Pie
I was not aware Brewhouse were dog friendly until asking the bar person who said the puppy was welcome to sit inside or outside. We were given a bowl of their finest water to keep our friend hydrated.
Brewhouse brews their own beer on-site and matches beer with each item on the menu to enhance your enjoyment. For real ale enthusiasts and those interested in brewing, they have a brewery experience day so you can learn all about making beer. The day lasts approximately 7 hours and includes breakfast, lunch and a chance to sample 8 different beers – including all of the beers they brew on-site in the microbrewery! You will get a 5 Litre mini keg of your chosen B&K brewed beer to enjoy at home.
