Mallards pike lake in the Forest of Dean is a special place to visit and enjoy the beauty. This lake is a great place for hiking, cycling, or just a relaxing picnic on the banks.
After enjoying a walk or cycle, there is also a café near the car park and picnic area. This cafe is a great place where you can admire the surroundings over a cup of tea or coffee.

Walks at Mallards Pike
The surrounding forest is great for walking and has loads of trails of differing difficulties. One of my favourites is heading to Cannop Ponds and back via a different route. You will meet other walkers and cyclists on the way and spotting some local wildlife, especially birds of prey. You can also walk towards The Sculpture Trail or the Speech House Hotel.
Hiking here is great in all the seasons and looks a different place in each. The photos on this page are mainly in the winter months. In Autumn the whole local area is vibrant with autumnal colours and horse-chestnuts to collect.
Go Ape in The Forest of Dean
At Mallards Pike in the Forest Of Dean, is Go Ape Tree Top Adventure. They provide some great outdoor fun as a treetop adventure, including climbing and riding zip lines through the woods. This is a great place for family or group fun and suitable for all abilities.
