Athena Olives & Greek Food

This is a stall in the market I usually gravitate towards when browsing the market and got tempted by the owner’s samples. They supply a wide range of flavours and sizes of olives. My favourite is the plump black olive. Athena makes their own humus, which is delicious. However, this comes in many sizes.

An array of spices is on display, from popular options through to some more exotic. On my last visit, they introduced me to the world of marinated garlic, wow delicious. I also purchased sun-dried tomatoes to round off my trip.

They also have a stall selling their wares at the Gloucester Farmers Market at the Cross in the city centre. They have most of their stock there for purchase and also samples.

There are many other great shops near to Athena, including many that sell great food. There are some butchers that sell many meats and one that makes speciality family-sized pies. Eastgate Market has a fishmonger at the entrance near to Greyfriars Priory. They sell a range of fresh fish and seafood. A recent addition is a Polish bakery that sells Eastern European bread and cakes.
